It absolutely was a perfect Saturday in October to stay in Shenandoah National Park. The atmosphere had been sharp, the hues of red, orange and yellow artwork the autumn foliage, and an environment of excitement by the a huge selection of other nationwide park goers desperate to experience the serenity of a fantastic national park gem. At first my trip started as a trip to see President and Mrs. Hoover’s Rapidan Camp and do a little picture taking associated with significant Civilian Conservation Corps existence within park.
It converted into significantly more, an opportunity to witness an AmeriCorps alumnus’ proceeded dedication and passion for solution.

It’s perhaps one of the most unforeseen places to find a teen center, in a town hallway, or maybe it is a statement from Montpelier, VT that teens and childhood matter for this neighborhood.
The center speaks to warmth and caring, the peoples touch that often is lost in an overly stimulated electronic world. It is somewhere in which you matter for who you are not in what you have on the (play list) or the manner in which you dress, or how you look. Unconditional support and caring is offered by AmeriCorps users sponsored by the Vermont Youth Development Corps.

Mucking homes ravaged by hurricanes and floods, feeding the hungry, reading to children, cleaning riverbeds, and mentoring are only a number of the methods volunteers prove they are the anchor of your nation’s capacity to do good and change lives. Throughout October, the organization for National and Community Service (CNCS) centered on how national service mobilizes volunteers and connects all of them to possibilities to offer.
